Labeling Process for Contract Manufacturing Projects

Janco is committed to providing a high-quality manufacturing process from start to finish.

One of the final steps of our contract manufacturing process is labeling, ensuring that the packaging or device we’ve brought to life is accurately tagged with any essential information.

As with almost all of our technical capabilities, labeling offers a high degree of customization from clients, so your end product is as in line with your vision as possible.

Plus, we complete all of our jobs in-house which keeps the process running quickly and smoothly, lessening the time it takes for you to have your product in your hands and ready for distribution and sale.

What goes into a label?

As our team serves a diverse range of industries with unique needs, our labeling process is built to be customizable. From the medical industry to electronic devices or automotive parts, no two projects have the same labeling needs.

Your team is able to have a high level of input in the process, coming to us with any design ideas, graphics, or essential information. Most commonly, labeling will include:

  • Part numbers
  • Lot numbers
  • Barcodes
  • Graphics

Everything down to the font and formatting can be customized upon request. From there, our quality assurance team assesses the design in accordance with your industry standards. Medical device labeling, for example, often has to adhere to unique regulations.

Medical Packaging or Device Labeling

One critical example of medical packaging specifications is UDI requirements. UDI, Unique Device Identification, is governed by the FDA and requires device labelers to:

  1. Include a unique device identifier (UDI), issued under an FDA-accredited issuing agency’s UDI system. These must be included on device labels, packages, or in some cases directly on the device that we’re manufacturing for you.
  2. Submit device information to the Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID)

Our team is experienced in handling UDI requirements, so you can have peace of mind knowing that we are following every essential step to properly label and report your device. We’re happy to help you understand everything that goes into the process before we begin.

Heat Stamping

Our team utilizes heat-stamps to imprint names, logos, and other graphics directly onto devices or packaging as requested. Using a strip of ink on a small, two-inch roll, we’re able to stamp custom imprints onto plastic.
